Charleston is set to host the Dad Joke Comedy Battle, a family-friendly event combining humor and community support, on Saturday, June 7. The event, scheduled just ahead of Father’s Day, aims to raise funds for the West Side Neighborhood Association while providing an entertaining evening of lighthearted comedy.
The Dad Joke Comedy Battle is a unique comedy competition featuring everyday participants who will share their best dad jokes in a friendly contest. Attendees can expect plenty of groan-worthy punchlines, such as: “What did one plate whisper to the other? Dinner is on me,” and “You can’t trust atoms — they make up everything.”
More than just a comedy event, the fundraiser supports the West Side Neighborhood Association’s ongoing community efforts. The association organizes local initiatives including neighborhood clean-ups, flower planting, block beautification, and projects designed to connect and empower residents.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit these programs, helping to strengthen the Charleston community on the city’s West Side.
The event will be held at Resurrection Church (formerly known as the Capitol Theatre) on Summers Street. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the show beginning promptly at 6 p.m.
Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children aged 12 and under. They may be purchased at the door or in advance online.
For those looking to enjoy some good-natured humor while supporting a meaningful cause, the Dad Joke Comedy Battle promises an evening of fun and community spirit.
