As tickets for Superman are expected to be on sale imminently, anticipation for the film continues to grow, overshadowing earlier negative buzz from test screenings.
The debut DC Universe (DCU) movie has undergone several notable changes during post-production. Director James Gunn is reported to have made significant adjustments to the film’s editing and musical score teams. Additionally, the initially planned day-of-the-week narrative structure was recently removed in favor of a more straightforward, linear storyline.
Earlier reports from an initial screening revealed that the film included some risqué humor, such as a scene featuring Eve Teschmacher sending a sext message to Jimmy Olsen. Given James Gunn’s history with adult-rated DC projects—The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos—this creative choice is not entirely unexpected, even though Superman carries a PG-13 rating.
Gunn’s previous work with PG-13 rated films, including the Guardians of the Galaxy series, is known for incorporating mature humor within appropriate limits, suggesting a similar tone may be present in Superman.
Further updates also tease which version of Robin fans can expect to see in the upcoming Teen Titans project, though details remain tightly under wraps.
